With over 45 years associated with waterfront facilities, Ron Bourne has extensive experience in the planning and design of marine terminals and shiplift systems, as well as RO/RO facilities. The focus of his experience has been on public sector projects but also includes commercial and industrial maritime clients providing infrastructure for large vessel cargo operations. Specific areas of effort include performance of planning, feasibility studies, facility layout and design, meeting vessel and landside equipment requirements, and obtainment of regulatory approvals.
Ron also has significant experience in the design and maintenance of waterfront structures, including protection of deteriorating impacts
of marine borer attack and rot, corrosion, and premature concrete deterioration. Facilities he has designed range from small vessel facilities to large ship dock facilities for cargo transfer, including petroleum, salt, timber products and container facilities. Specific experience includes vessel drydock facility inspection, assessment, and design.
