Michael Koontz, P.L.A. joins GEI as Senior Urban Design/Waterfront Planning Practice Leader

Huntington Station, NY (March 1, 2022) – Michael Koontz, P.L.A. has joined GEI’s Huntington Station, NY office as a Senior Urban Design/Waterfront Planning Practice Leader. Michael brings more than 30 years of experience in landscape architecture providing quality design focused on resilient and sustainable public works on the waterfront and in urban environments.

“As a licensed Landscape Architect, and LEED Accredited Professional, Michael will be leading our growth sectors in Resilient Waterfront Design, as well as sustainable Urban Design initiatives for Green Infrastructure, Public Amenities, and Green Roofs,” says Errol Kitt, Vice President at GEI. “Michael will be actively participating in client and professional organizations and involved with other key leaders in the professional community of coastal and urban waterfront design, as well as other vital public amenity endeavors. He will be working with various GEI practice teams so that allied professionals, as well as clients and key stakeholders are actively engaged, and successful projects of the highest quality are delivered.”
